Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful, even for couples who are usually very laid back. Too much stress can make you feel less in control, argue more, and even leave you more susceptible to illness. The last thing you need on your wedding day is to feel ill.
Relaxation is key when it comes to reaching your wedding day calm and happy. So what can you do to relax before your wedding?
In the weeks before
Rather than letting the pressure build up to an unmanageable level, the healthiest way to control wedding stress is to find ways to relax regularly. You can do this as a couple by arranging date nights, or the ultimate in relaxation, a spa day. Find ways to relax separately too, either by yourself or with friends. This little and often approach is the perfect way to let off steam and centre yourself.
The day before
Your nerves and stress levels are at their highest now, so you’ll want to plan relaxation into your day. Try and avoid any super stressful friends or relatives (you know which ones) and surround yourself with familiar things that calm you down. This could be playing your favourite music or burning your scented candle. Even if you’re getting married at a location away from your home, bring these things with you.
Treat yourself to tasty, nutritious food, pamper yourself and have an early night the night before your wedding.
Now, you’re in the perfect frame of mind to enjoy your special day.
